Attention: All T.S.C.C. #2003 (Star of Downtown) Owners & Residents Regarding:New Policy Regarding Pest Control Dear Residents, In order to deliver better service to all residents regarding pest control, we have been advised that ‘block control’ is more effective. This means that when a resident notices a type of insect that can be treated, that unit plus the one above and below, and on either side will be treated as well. Prior to the treatment, a pre-treatment sheet will be emailed to each of the participants. We understand that the sheet is intrusive to follow, but for treatment to be effective, all parties must follow the instructions to the letter. Failure to do so could result in a second treatment being necessary. Please understand that the Corporation has done everything it can to control pests at this property. In fact, we have only had one case of confirmed bed bugs in 2 years and that was only proof that they had been present. At the time of testing, the bed bugs were gone. Cockroaches are faster moving and can move back and forth between units. Common areas are checked and treated as necessary every month, on a maintenance plan. The best method of treatment is to make your home uninteresting to the insects. Leave no food open in the cupboards or the counters. Keep your stove top spotless. Never leave soiled dishes in the sink or on the counter. Use steel wool and duct tape to seal all pipe-through fittings under sinks. We would ask all residents to be careful when setting down bags or briefcases in public places. If everyone does their part, we will be rid of these pests.
